The Match Master Record

Post by BuddingDev »

Can somebody explain me what is the exact meaning of match master record.
I am using Unduplicated Match Stage where I am getting a record with a missing field value as a Match master record. Although I have other records which are being output to duplicate link with all similar values but no missing value.
I want to understand why missing value field record is being picked as a master record. My understanding and the 'master' name suggest that the master record should be nothing but atleast complete.

The master record is the one with the highest aggregate weight when compared with itself. That is, the one with the greatest information content in all the fields mentioned in the Match rules. Where there is more than one record with the same weight in a block, the one selected as master is indeterminate (probably the first one encountered).
