Migrating 11.3 jobs to 8.7
Challenge: move QS 11.3 jobs into 8.7 installation and determine if they could run successfully.
1. How is this migration done?
2. Do you know right off the bat what to watch out for? What 11.3 features would not work in 8.7? And if you know the workarounds, what are they?
Thanks in advance.

Thank you, mates. We have been encouraging all users to do this, but the infrastructure group is still looking for a utility say, to erase all results in an entire project, e.g., TEST. If the table management screen is the only way, we will use it. We were just hoping someone may have built some uti...

Any add-on utility that can erase analysis results in IADB?
Our user community originally requested the DB2 group for 100GB of diskspace for IADB. Anticipating growth, they gave us 400GB. It has ballooned to 420GB and still growing. We're looking for a clean-up procedure for IADB: maybe a command line utility that can delete IA results en masse, as opposed t...

Does data need to be re-imported every time it changes?
I'm confused about how/when data is available to IA.
Initially data is imported into IA. Is that just a snapshot? When data changes at source, i.e., where it was imported from, does it have to be re-imported? Or is data always live after the initial import?
Thanks in advance.

Cannot see table
I have a brand new table that was not visible to IA. So I imported the metadata: identified levels, then imported. When I go to Column Analysis, the table is not in the list. Yet it is visible in Metadata Management. I can even see sample data. What did I miss? The documentation has very little step...

Read each line as a single VarChar column, and effect your parsing in a Transformer stage. Use stage variables to track where you're up to in each logical record. ... Makes sense, Ray. I'll go that route. Unfortunately, yes, the data contains *. How will you, even manually differentiate the '*' in ...

Branch in a job conditional on parameter
How can I use a parameter, say FLAG_X, to branch in two different directions in a parallel job? Eventually the two paths will converge somewhere in the job, perhaps in a Transformer. So in effect, I want to skip a section of a job based on the value of that parameter. The job would look like this: D...

What does the $ in front of environment variables do?
Sometimes I see the $ in front of environment variables, but at other times it's not there. What is the difference?
