Count the rows in a file
I want to split the file in to 2 before my job starts; example if I get 100 records 50 in to one another 50 in to other.Also how can count the records in a file.

fileset is partioned and stores the data in ascci format unlike the sequential file stage.
file stage stores the data in human redable format unlike the filedet

use seq file stage first then take xml input stage.In the seq file take 2 columns(varchar-1000),keep one column as key,select the non key field in thexml input stage,from xml input stage take 2 datasets one of it is reject, enable this option in xml input stage xml file wil be extractd
